John Broadwater, of NOAA (far right), and I take a look at the Medusa lighting and camera platform aboard Eas before departing St. John’s. Medusa was specially built by Phoenix Engineering of Virginia for this project. The vehicle was designed to hover at any desired altitude over Titanic. The 12,000-Watts-worth of HMI lights are not yet attached in this picture but were arrayed along the bottom bars, six to a side, as I recall. (Don Lynch)
