The M.T. Eas, operated by the E.D.T. Towage and Salvage Co., Ltd., served as the operating center for the Medusa lighting/camera vehicle. (Eas means "dawn" in ancient Greek.) The vessel is capable of dynamic positioning, meaning it can remain exactly over a specific target for days on end by using several thrusters. The control and monitoring center for Medusa was contained within a "van" visible at the aft end of the ship in the top image, taken in St. John’s. Medusa was launched and recovered using the "A frame" seen in the bottom picture. (Ken Marschall)
